Sunday Mornings: The King and the Kingdom

While the theme of the Bible is the Kingdom of God, there are many false ideas about this Kingdom.  This calls for an understanding of this very important subject.  In fact, one could say that understanding the Kindgom of God is indespensable for an understanding and appreciation of Christ and the redemption He provided.  God's Kingdom is real, and Jesus said, "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33) It will be out purpose in this series of lessons to learn what we can about the Kingdom of God and our relationship to the Lord's glorious kingdom.

Wednesday Evenings: How to Study the Bible

As people of faith, Christians look to the Bible as a trustworthy guide to a life that is both personally fulfilling and a source of blessing to others. Underlying this attitude is the conviction that “all scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16). The Bible occupies a unique role in influencing our lives as we live in this world. It influences our thinking which influences our behavior toward God and toward others. We agree as Christians that God wants us to read, believe, and obey the His word. In fact, we are convinced that the single most serious problem people have with the Bible is not the lack of understanding, but the fact that they understand it too well and don’t want to apply its principles to their lives. This systematic study gives us the tools that we need to help us extract the principles of interpretation from the Bible; this science of Biblical interpretation is called hermeneutics. Hermeneutics involves the ability to study and understand God’s word. Systematical Bible Study
consists of three components, observation, interpretation, and application. This study will give you the tools that you will need to learn how to observe the bible in order to determine or interpret its meaning and then apply its principles to your life.
